Description

Thanks for your interest in chartering our Mainship 30. This is our only boat that doesn’t include the cost of fuel in the charter.** This is the most luxurious 6 passenger motor yacht on the Bay. She’s gorgeous and has been setup specifically for charters on SF Bay, an area known for tough conditions. She has been custom designed allowing her to motor comfortably and safely in every area on the Bay. Being a HUGE 30 footer, she’s remarkably dry given her Downeaster design. Her large cockpit is well protected and has some super comfy seats to lounge around and enjoy the day! Plenty of gleaming surfaces and varnished wood makes her feel luxurious and special. She has a beautiful interior as well! She is certainly one of the loveliest charter boats on SF Bay.

Our normal conditions start out with winds of 5-10 knots between the hours of 9 am - 12 noon. from Noon to 2 pm the winds build to 20+ knots and after 3 pm it is very common for us to be sailing in 25+ knots of wind until just after the sunset when the wind drops back to 15-18 knots.

Please dress warm and in layers. It’s usually beautiful down at South Beach Harbor but will certainly get a bit cooler out around Alcatraz.

You can bring food and beverages. Please no red wine (it stains) or hard liquor. We suggest box lunches as they’re self contained and easy to serve and clean. Please bring plastic or soft ice chests, the smaller the better.

We are located next to Oracle Ballpark, Where the SF Giants play.

Location & Destination Guide

Ah San Francisco! The City by the Bay is a maritime dream and one of America’s most iconic cities. Sailing in San Francisco is probably the best way to experience her in all her glory…

Many people say that this is one of the most European feeling cities in America, and with historic streets and a vibe that is still very alternative, it’s easy to see why. And, with so much to see and do on the water, sailing in San Francisco is a uniquely thrilling experience.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
