Nice to meet you, I'm Captain Fernando . I live and work onboard Saba since 2020. I have an Amateur Captain license certified by the Brazilian Navy since 2018, and an OWSI Diving Instructor certified by PADI. I collect uncommon travel destinations and itineraries, and I've been to 46 countries so far (including some very peculiar ones). In addition to sailing, I am a mountaineer (I have participated in expeditions in Africa, Europe, and even Everest), and also a drummer and devotee of rock and roll and love to play some music with anyone that shows up on deck. I am responsible for deck work, its navigation, and safety on board. For that, I was trained by STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers), I am an EFR (Emergency First Response) instructor and love to study and learn more and more about sailing, meteorology, and safety at sea. For me is non-negotiable that Saba only navigates equipped with the most modern navigation, communication, and security systems, ensuring that everyone on board is always safe and comfortable. Because after all, we must have a peaceful mind to grant the best of fun. During last season, in 2020, we sailed over 2,000 miles with Saba, from southern France through Corsica and Sardinia, and up the Italian western coast to Amalfi. Hello! My name is Carol and I am the second commander! After years of leading communication agencies and digital consultancies, I decided to embrace my passion for the sea, which made me an Amateur Captain of the Brazilian Navy and a PADI Advanced Diver - not to mention the long training of STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers). I love to cook delights - which gives me the title of Chef on this boat. For years I taught practical and easy recipes, and now I bring all this expertise on board! In addition to being addicted to sea and cooking, I love learning new languages and am passionate about games, outdoor walks, and helping people out. I am also responsible for the office side of things - from client services to reservations and all the cleaning and organizing of boat, ensuring that everything is in order and properly done over here!

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Corfu, GR.

Greece is made for sailing. With its craggy coastline and huge chocolate box selection of amazing islands, the biggest problem is choosing where to go. If you head to the Ionian islands you’ll have a great choice of Sailo boat rentals and yacht charters to choose from.

From Corfu or Lefkada to Zakynthos, your biggest problem will be choosing your itinerary. With some of the best beaches in the world, some top quality diving and often favourable sea conditions, sailing the Ionian islands is a dream week-long vacation.

What type of yacht should I charter?

No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! more...

What should I bring?

Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. more...

How long does a rental last?

The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests. more...
