I chartered this boat specifically because Capt Jules was willing to let me take the helm to practice my newly acquired skipper/captain ASA skills on his 38ft cruiser.
Capt Jules, runs a tight operation. He is thorough with this pre-sail safety checklist, he gives a thorough orientation of his boat, and finally, he is a wonderful and patient Captain/Instructor, in that he fielded all of my sailing questions and let me correct my mistakes when I caused the sails to luff.
The Pelican is a wonderful vessel and Capt. Jules keeps it in mint condition so you don't have to worry about weak fraying lines or missing parts... the rigging is solid!
Many thanks to Capt Jules for a great time at sea! I'm already planning to book another sail with him in the Fall.
