Description

ABOUT

This is solid and spacious Bavaria 46 Cruiser built in 2008. She has 4 cabins and 2 heads but will only be able to offer 3 double bed cabins where up to 6 guests can be comfortably accommodated. Forth, bunk bed cabin, is used by skipper. Please note that Marinas can only be chartered with skipper but thanks to that it can also be chartered for a short stay like a day or even half a day cruise.
Since it joined our fleet few years ago, plenty of work has been done; new fridges were installed, solar panels added, old sails replaced, bedclothes, kitchen equipment, dingy, outboard, lots of equipment was refurbished. Considering her age and years spent in charter she now looks much better than most of her colleagues of the same age but her experience and miles left behind are, normally, visible. What you can expect is a cozy, comfortable and very safe middle age lady with well-maintained interior and fully equipped for extended cruising.

PAYMENT and EXPENCESS
All the expenses that you can expect before and during your stay are divided into three steps;

1. First part is your online reservation/booking. This part is related with accommodation alone and it includes boat charter, Croatian VAT and Sailo agency commission.
2. Second part includes obligatory extras* and optional extras should you have chosen any. Second payment is to be sorted in cash with skipper upon your arrival onboard.
3. Third part are expenses that depend on your preferences; food and beverage, fuel (depending on choice of your itinerary), port fees (should you choose to stay overnight in the local villages, port fees are to be sorted by you). These are to be sorted throughout your stay.

*obligatory extras –
1. Skipper – (180 € per day + food) Skipper will join you during onboard meals and when you wish to go out for lunch/dinner make sure to leave enough food in the fridge or just pick up skipper's dinner invoice next morning. You can as well invite him to join you or ask about dinner recommendation. He will always have secret local restaurant to show you.
2. Transit log – (250 eur per booking) - is everything needed to prepare the vessel for your stay. It includes interior and exterior cleaning, cooking gas, outboard engine and fuel for dingy, bed linen, beach towels, bathroom towels, basic kitchen and bathroom necessities, wi-fi, paddle board, snorkling gear etc. Transit log is the same wether you are staying two days or full week. However, for daily rentals transit log is 150 eur.
3. Sojourn tax – Croatian tourist/visitor tax is 1,60 € per person per day. Children under 12 years are not obliged for tax.

INCLUDED IN CHARTER PRICE
- snorkeling equipment
- wi-fi
- bedclothes
- 2-bathroom towels and 1 beach towel per person
- dingy with outboard engine
- kitchen and bathroom basics

NOT INCLUDED IN CHARTER PRICE
- food and beverage
- port fee - in case you prefer to overnight in port, docking fee should be sorted by you
- fuel - you only pay as much as you spend. Engine average consumption is app 5 lit per hour. At the end of a charter, we will calculate working hours and let you know the exact amount. Just for the reference our average daily fuel expense varies at 30-50€
- crew gratitude - skipper job is one of the best jobs in the world, but not an easy one. Making sure everything goes smooth and safe, quite often out of their comfort zone to ensure the best possible experience. Tip is not obligatory but it is expected and very much appreciated.

ITINERARY
Itinerary will be created in accordance to the weather, length of stay and your preferences. If you have destinations that you want to visit or activities you want to do, we will do our best to adjust it accordingly. It is good to have the plan and learn about the area before your arrival, it is always good to ask us for recommendations and suggestions, however do have in mind that the final route will be confirmed by the skipper, after checking the weather forecast on the day of your arrival. There are many logistical details to be taken into account so our skipper will suggest safest and the most comfortable route, planning few days ahead. However, if you want to do extra activities outside of the boat, do let us know ahead of your arrival as restaurants, various tours, berth in port etc … all needs to be reserved in advance.

WHAT TO EXPECT
ONE DAY charter - we are staying within the triangle of Split, Brač and Šolta. You can expect to visit one of the villages on Brač or Šolta, swim stop in the middle of a day and two hour navigation both ways.
TWO DAY charter - overnight onboard is the minimum to experience the real thing. If you have never tried it, stay on the anchor and enjoy the comfort of your floating home in the middle of beautiful nature. Two day trip can include several swim stops on various places and visit of two or three different villages, if your daily navigation is not too long. Hvar town is also comfortably reachable in two days.
THREE DAY charter – it is a big difference between one/two day trip and everything above. Several hours of navigation are needed to clear the area of Split and find yourself in attractive destination. Good part of your first and last day will be navigation to your final destination but in this case you have one full day to use just as you want. Three- and four-days trips are our recommendation as the best discovery sailing option.

Please note that the average daily price is lower the more days you choose to book.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

-HOSTES -can join us should you wish to have prepared breakfast and lunch or clean and sorted interior on a daily base. Please ask for a fee and availability
- ONE WAY - should you wish to start or finish your sailing vacation anywhere else then in Split, it is possible. We will transfer the boat and charge for delivery at the price of 10 € per nautical mile. Fuel, skipper and extra day needed for delivery are included in delivery price, no extra costs.
For example:
Split-Korčula 60 nautical milesx10€= 600 €,
Split-Hvar 25 nautical miles = 250 €,
- PROVISIONING - If you prefer to have your boat fully supplied by the time of your arrival, simply send us food and beverage preference list and we will make local provisioning for you. We only charge 80 € for time and delivery.

3 of us Americans spent 4 days and 3 nights aboard Marinas sailing from Split to Vis, Hvar, and Brac. We had the best time and really enjoyed the company of our skipper, Kiki. We were worried about sleeping on the boat and it wasn’t an issue for anyone, in fact we ended up loving getting rocked to sleep. Our only complaint was that it can get hot on the boat at night, as it was unseasonably warm for September, and you don’t get much breeze from the windows. We left our itinerary open and just communicated our departure needs and our hopes; the Kiki did everything else including picking routes, finding places to swim, recommending tours, and booking reservations for dinner at great restaurants. We even encountered a storm one night and felt very safe knowing how experienced Kiki was. Also highly recommend ordering your groceries to be delivered ahead of time, although we definitely over ordered. I would book another trip with Neven and Kiki if I’m back in Croatia.

The sailboat was nice and was what we expected.

Kristian the skipper was knowledgeable about the boat and sailing . Very unenthusiastic about being there. We had to ask to have the sail put up, and did have it up for a couple of hours the first day. Other than that we just motored ., there wasn’t much wind . We understood that , but the sail could have been raised more times . We had to ask about how to steer the boat and other operation, as my son in law wanted to learn more. No information was offered by Kristian to us. A small amount of info was given about the area we were motoring through, when we pressed for info. The first stop was really nice, and we enjoyed the night there. Our skipper was very concerned about meeting up with his friends, and kept leaving the sailboat to meet them . The second stop where we spent the night was on Vis. My daughter had to convince our skipper to go to a spot she had researched , which was great, even though Kristian wanted to just spend the night in the port . We did finally go to the spot my daughter insisted that we anchor in. It was lovely. We went to a restaurant that our skipper recommended, that he had been to many times. It was a tourist trap, the food wasn’t good, it was expensive and we are quite sure that we all got severe food poisoning there. The last day we tried to adjust our plan since my husband was ill, our skipper was irritated and annoyed with our suggestions. We finally just went back to the split port early

In summary, the boat was nice, the skipper was disengaged unenthusiastic, and he clearly didn’t want to be out with us. We were four fun excited adults, and we helped out with all docking etc. we were easy guests. Disappointing that our skipper wasn’t better. This was a splurge for us to arrange and we were so very excited about sailing for a few days of our Europe trip. The sail would have been so much nicer if the skipper had been more engaged and tried to really make our sail wonderful .

    Response from the boat owner

I am very sorry for the experience that you had onboard Marinas and I must say that I was shocked after reading your review. Let me remind you that we had a whats app group from the moment the booking was confirmed and I have mentioned several times that I am at disposal for any questions or issues that you may have before or during your stay. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do once the charter is over and I learn about your experience from the review, more than a week after you left. I have as well welcomed you on the pier on the last day and ask how everything was but you mentioned nothing.
Further on I am confused about some of your comments and I am still trying to understand where the actual problem was.
As you wrote, there was no wind but you insisted on lifting the sails up. Kristijan, of course, did it and you were floating for several hours barely moving. I can understand why he was unenthusiastic about sailing and I hope my future guest will as well.
Meeting with fellow skippers is part of our life. Please understand that the skipper is living your life, he is waking up when you wake up and he will go to sleep when you go to sleep. He speaks your language and he will laugh at your jokes. He will eat when you eat and what you eat, his working day is not 8 hours but 24 hour /day and if some of our colleagues are anchored next to us it is normal that we will go for a chat while in the same time you are safely anchored, swimming, snorkeling, enjoying your time.
With respect to the restaurant, unfortunately for us, it was not food poisoning. Kristijan picked up a virus from you and we had to cancel our next departure as he was not able to work. Restaurant where you had dinner is called Roki's and it is one of the Vis Island highlights due to the authentic way of how they prepare the food. Their reviews speak for themselves.

I just want to say that you were one of our few guests that had previous boating life and you were experienced enough to notice the amount of time and love invested in keeping Marinas up to standards. I would do all in my power to correct that but unfortunately it is too late.
I am also very very sorry that John had severe sea sickness and that you had to cancel your last day for that reason and I understand the frustration that your holiday, planned a long time ago, did not go as planned...however I would leave to readers to estimate whether we are as guilty as you wrote. At this point I can only offer a good discount and myself as your personal skipper in case you ever decide to come back to Croatia.

We had the very best day on Marinas! We had to make our reservation at the last minute and everyone involved was very accommodating! The boat was equipped with everything we could possibly need! Our captain was amazing and really made our day extra special! We have two teenage boys and he took extra time to teach them about the sail boat and even allowed them to help on deck with some jobs! They were thrilled! We would highly recommend this boat to anyone looking for a memorable day on the water!

If there were six stars available, I would happily give them all to Neven and his 46' Bavaria sailboat. This wasn't just a rental, it was a one-of-a-kind experience that added an irreplaceable layer of magic to our vacation in Hvar, Croatia.

The sailboat itself was absolutely pristine. Neven's Bavaria was meticulously maintained, sparking clean, and everything onboard worked as it should - evidence of Neven's passion and dedication to providing the best sailing experience possible for his guests. It was evident that this wasn't just a business for him, but a labor of love.

Neven was nothing short of extraordinary. He not only ensured that our sailing experience was safe and smooth, but he also went above and beyond to make it educational and unforgettable. His extensive knowledge of sailing and the local area provided a richness to our journey that we couldn't have gained anywhere else. It's rare to find someone so eager to share their expertise, but Neven seemed to relish it.

The highlight of our trip was when Neven let our 13-year-old daughter take the helm under his careful supervision. His patient teaching and encouraging manner gave her confidence and it was a thrill for her to navigate the Adriatic Sea. It was a day she will cherish forever.

The lunch stop was picture-perfect, a quintessential Croatian experience - idyllic and serene. The location Neven chose was not something we would have found on our own, and it gave us a chance to enjoy some downtime in a stunningly beautiful location, adding to the overall joy of the day.

Neven's service goes beyond anything we have experienced in our previous rentals. It was not just about the immaculate boat or the perfect sailing conditions, it was about the warmth, hospitality, and genuine care that Neven showed us throughout the day. He made our family feel like his own and made sure every single detail was catered to.

In conclusion, if you're planning a trip to Hvar and considering a sailing experience, look no further than Neven. You will not only have an amazing sailing trip but also make a lifelong friend in Croatia. He is an absolute gem, and we would wholeheartedly recommend him for both short-term and long-term rentals. This experience was the highlight of our vacation, and we are confident it will be the same for you.

Sail with Neven, you won't regret it.

As a couple we found the boat very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. What really made the trip was the skipper, Luka. Luka was gracious about taking us to all the places that tourists typically want to go, but additionally, he took us to quieter ports with amazing restaurants and the most beautiful scenery. We so enjoyed sailing with him. He provided fascinating historical info as well as current information about our surroundings and helped us to better understand Croatia and its citizens. Would highly recommend Luka and Neven’s boat.

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Split, HR.

Croatia’s second city, Split is a fantastic blend of maritime history and laid back urban vibes. Often overlooked by Dubrovnik, Split actually makes the perfect base to rent a boat and explore the Dalmatian coast when sailing in Croatia. And with a palm fringed, sea facing promenade, and some of the most popular Croatian islands on its doorstep, you’ll see why this city is quickly catching up with it’s more glamorous neighbor.
