Great day with amazing guests onboard
I feel bad that we couldn’t get the kids to the beach on peanut Island as usual, but I had to side with extreme caution, as it was extremely windy that day, and the current flow was strong, where we were anchored, and we were actually sliding back toward the sandbar although Ben, the dad of some of the children was able to stand up behind the boat where are that close to the sandbar? It’s a good thing. We didn’t spend more time at the island because we barely got back in time.. first meet Tara entertain the children with arts and crafts downstairs on the dining table and I still have the results of their work under magnets on my refrigerator door, reminding me of the trip every day. I look forward to having them aboard again when I’m in Western Long Island sound either from Huntington or Port Washington. I had a blast.. being a captain is 95% judgment and I can’t count the number of times I was running 100 foot motor. Yacht and the guests wanted to go to a specific restaurant yet I had to say no because the boat could not go into the slip allotted given the current and wind conditions on that hour. Tough to do when they’re giving a $10,000. I greatly appreciate Martin’s flexibility to get a good day on the water.
