The boat was as advertised and Mario was accessible. I had minimal previous experince piloting a ship but Mario tutored us well. He offered good destination suggestions- that we kinda followed. Plus we explored , which is why we got our own craft. We had some weather which you would think might impair our enjoyment of the experince-but no. We rode out the hard rain in a harbor and due to this awesome boats design- we stayed dry! Early on when we first went by the " blue cave" the moorage was filled with tours- but after the rain event when we were cruising by- no tours and as the weather does here it became sunny- we had the blue cave to ourselves for the duration of our visit- just us, the fishes and a blue glow. I hope everybody can be so lucky. Feeling confident I decided to motor to the old harbor- Mario had showed us the spare gas can so i figured we could make it. My first mate ( my wife, who I did not consult was a little concerned as the Swells were considerable on the open water towards the old harbor on a day that had a rain event- but this great little boat got us there- I can now proclaim I captained a ship into a fortified historic city. On my terms. Returning from the old port was a bit easier as the swell was with us and even running the motor at 75% we didnt get back washed once. After it was over the crew reconcilled and it is one of our cherished memories of our two weeks in Croatia. And we didnt need the second can of gas. Thank you Mario

Croatia’s second city, Split is a fantastic blend of maritime history and laid back urban vibes. Often overlooked by Dubrovnik, Split actually makes the perfect base to rent a boat and explore the Dalmatian coast when sailing in Croatia. And with a palm fringed, sea facing promenade, and some of the most popular Croatian islands on its doorstep, you’ll see why this city is quickly catching up with it’s more glamorous neighbor.
