Description

Vessel offers an authentic monohull sailing experience aboard a beautifully restored 1935 2-masted ketch sailboat. Originally designed for offshore racing, she features original style wooden masts, sails, and rigging. The captain steers the vessel from the stern and the mate assists by controlling the sails as well as interacting with the guests and serving beverages. There is ample cushioned seating for all guests, but space and opportunity to lay down or walk around during the sail may be limited. Guest access to the cabin area is limited to emergency use of the head (restroom).

*The full day includes a total of 7 hours and is only available on Monday-Thursdays.

Crew

Pictured are owners GM and Laura Bell. GM has been sailing since childhood and previously taught sailing at the Miles River Yacht Club in St. Michaels, Maryland. His sailing adventures have taken him across the Mediterranean Sea, Mexico, Hawaii, California, the U.S. East Coast from Rhode Island to Florida, the Delaware River, and much of the Bahamas and Chesapeake Bay. He has held a U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license since 2014. Laura also grew up sailing with her family on various monohull sailboats and now has several years of experience sailing Epiphany along the East Coast and throughout the Bahamas. She is also the owner and photographer behind Laura’s Focus Photography. GM spent several summers serving as first mate to Captain Iris aboard the historic Selina II. In 2025, we are honored to “take the helm” of the company, as we continue to grow. After several seasons operating on Broad Creek, we will be moving across the harbor for the 2026 season and beyond, sailing from the same Harbour Inn & Marina dock. We’re thrilled to offer two unique sailing experiences: a historic journey aboard our 1935 ketch, or a modern adventure on our 44-foot luxury catamaran, Epiphany. Both yachts can accommodate up to 13 guests. We are very excited about our addition of historic vessel to our fleet. This 1935 Maryland built boat brings nearly a century of maritime history back to the Chesapeake Bay.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
