Crew

We are Carla and Armando, the heart and soul behind Sunset Sailing Algarve. Our passion for the sea shapes every private boat tour we offer in the Algarve. From the very beginning, sailing has been more than a profession for us — it is a way of life. After crossing the Atlantic aboard our rare Nautitech 475 catamaran, we returned to Faro. As a result, we decided to share our deep connection with the sea and our love for the Ria Formosa with those who value authentic and meaningful experiences. A passion for private sailing experiences We invite you to come and meet us, relax, and explore hidden corners of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Moreover, every tour is fully private and carefully tailored, allowing you to enjoy calm waters, natural beauty and total comfort at your own pace. For this reason, each sailing experience is designed to create unforgettable memories — whether you are celebrating a special moment or simply enjoying the Algarve from a unique perspective. Sunset Sailing Algarve is run by Carla and Armando, who personally host and operate each private sailing tour in the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Armando and Carla were super gracious with a lovely boat. My family had a wonderful time and besides the natural oceanic beauty of Faro, Carla and Armando were so engaging and gave us a history of the area while cruising around Faro. Would love to visit them again if we decide to come to the area again.

Armando and Carla were amazing! They answered all questions before booking and went above and beyond to make this the best boat day. It was my family's first time in Portugal and this boat day was one of our favorite parts. The boat was beautiful and the tour was great! We couldn't have asked for two better people to spend the day with. Thank you Armando and Carla!

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
