Description

This Cat offers captained, self-catered sailing vacations departing from George Town or Staniel Cay, Exumas in the Bahamas.

We specialize in catering to water sports enthusiasts, offering kitesurfing and scuba diving adventures for experienced guests, and we offer snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding options for all guests who are interested.

Itinerary options include roundtrip or one-way trips. Full-day charters are also available by special arrangement if we are not otherwise booked on a multi-day charter.

The Exumas chain is a cruiser’s paradise, known for stunning clear blue waters, sprawling sandbars, and bright, starry nights. Experience highlights from snorkeling Thunderball Grotto and the Aquarium to kiting Pipe Creek or Children's Bay, rubbing elbows with nurse sharks at Compass Cay, meeting rare pink iguanas on Leaf Cay beach, snorkelling Moriah Harbor National Park or savoring the famous Sunday pig roast at Chat n’ Chill on Stocking Island.

We operate aboard a luxury 50′ St. Francis catamaran, fully refit in 2021. She accommodates up to 6 guests in 3 queen-size ensuite staterooms. Each stateroom includes teak and holly floors with cherry finishes, a large storage area for clothing and personal items, cool gel mattresses and pillows, fans and optional A/C. Her “galley down” configuration makes for efficient food prep and cleanup while maximizing relaxation space in the main salon, and her spacious cockpit is perfect for lounging and dining alfresco.

Don't let the luxurious interior betray her constitution — she was built to be a world cruiser. She is a perfect mix of style and speed, with high bridge-deck clearance, a well-balanced sail plan, and cruising speeds that typically range between 7 and 15 kts depending on the wind and point of sail.

Crew

Captain Jason holds an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualification, earned after years of competing at the highest levels of the J/24 one-design sailing class and in numerous other one-design and handicap-rated sailing events around the world, from Europe to the Americas and New Zealand, coupled with a half-circumnavigation. Having sailed the Ocean Adventure Cat from Panama to New Zealand as crew for her original owners, he (and partner Lara) eventually purchased her for use as a platform to share his water sporting passions with fellow ocean adventure enthusiasts. Jason is a qualified PADI instructor, avid kiteboarder and sailor, and enjoys a morning paddle board or surfing expedition anytime he can squeeze it in.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
