Our 35″ coastal racing catamaran is the ultimate sailing machine, with plenty of room to relax on spacious trampoline decks. She is safe, stable and perfect for guests of any age. The most eco-friendly way to get up close to Cathedral Cove. Soak up the spectacular scenery. Relax onboard or choose to swim or snorkel with the abundant sea life.

Explore remote beaches. Swim. Snorkel. Unwind with a refreshing beverage and some local delicacies. Or simply sail the day away. You choose the adventure. We tailor the day to suit you. Your charter comes with a glass of complimentary local beer or wine and light refreshments. You also have the option to add a grazing platter or are welcome to bring along your own picnic.

Your charter includes a professional charter captain and trained crew. Captain Mat is the founder of charter company. Mat is a Kiwi born and bred, and his love of sailing has taken him all around the world. He has sailed professionally all his life, including running sailing charters in Nelson and the Abel Tasman, before settling on the Coromandel and Whitianga as a place to lay down his roots. Mat is respected locally for his boating skills having worked as Harbourmaster for the Coromandel region. But it’s when Mat is on the water sharing his love of sailing that he is ‘in the zone’ and is realizing his dream.

Full refund if renter cancels 31 days or more before the trip start date.
No refund if renter cancels 30 days or less before the trip start date.

  • We reserve the right to reschedule, reroute or cancel a trip due to weather, customer safety or other reasons. If we cancel the trip we refund at the time affected.
  • Prior to 90 days before charter, full refund , no cancellation fee. 90 – 60 days before charter, refund less $200 cancellation fee. 59 – 30 days before charter, 30% refund of total charter cost.* Less than 30 days – no refund. *
  • *If we are able to rehire the vessel to equivalent charter fee we will refund, less 20% or $200, whatever is greater, as cancellation fee.

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
