Description

What’s better than a day of sailing off the coast of Sidney on Vancouver Island? Ending that day camping on one of B.C.’s world famous Pacific coast beaches. Popular destinations like Sidney Spit Marine Park and Discovery Island Marine Park offer beautiful, boat access only campsites that give you the best of both worlds—time on the water and a peaceful night ashore.
After a day of boating, sometimes it just feels right to sleep on solid ground, with nothing between you and the stars but your tent. It’s a great way to spend a night (or two), taking your time exploring the shoreline, wildlife, and trails at your own pace. When you’re ready to head out, I can pick you up directly from your campsite sailing from your location and, if you’d like, dropping you off on another island before we cruise back toward the marina.
(Note: Island to island return or repositioning requires an additional 4 hour booking.)
The boat comfortably carries up to 5 guests, but space gets tight for overnight sleeping, which makes camping the perfect option. Bring a tent, sleeping mat, pillow, and sleeping bag, and you’re set. If you love boating and camping, this is your chance to enjoy remote beaches and coastal wilderness only accessible by boat. After we arrive, simply load your gear into the dinghy, row ashore, and set up camp.
If camping isn’t your thing, no problem! We can keep the day focused on sailing. On calmer days with little wind, you can try fishing or dropping a crab trap (B.C. tidal fishing license required). There are also DVDs and colouring pages on board for kids.
Trips are approximately 4 hours and can be scheduled for morning or afternoon, I’m flexible. And not to worry You’re in great hands!
Our boat and captain are fully Transport Canada certified, commercially registered, and properly insured. Look for the blue Transport Canada decal proudly displayed on our vessel; it's your sign that you’re boarding a boat that’s committed to the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This decal shows Transport Canada Safety Officers and the RCMP that we’re active participants in the Small Vessel Compliance Program (SVCP), a program designed to keep commercial operators running safely, responsibly, and legally.
This is the perfect boat to kick back, relax, enjoy the sun, and take in the beauty of the Gulf Islands. We depart near the Swartz Bay (Victoria) ferry terminal, with optional pick up available.

Boat accessible camping is one of the most enjoyable ways to experience the coastal lifestyle. With endless beaches and sheltered bays, the B.C. coast is a paradise for boating, swimming, exploring, and coastal hiking.

Crew

Captain Rui – I’ve had a lifelong love of the ocean and have spent over 25 years at the helm of my sailboat, Sea Renity, exploring the waters around the Southern Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island. From calm coves to scenic shorelines and nearby islands, my goal is always to make every trip safe, relaxed, and enjoyable for guests of all ages. I’m easygoing and patient, and I love sharing the water with my own family as well as welcoming new friends aboard. Whether it’s spotting seals and eagles, exploring quiet bays, or simply enjoying quality time together on the boat, I enjoy helping both kids and adults feel comfortable and excited on the water. The BC coast is an incredible classroom and playground, and introducing families to its wildlife, scenery, and sense of adventure is something I truly love. After years of encouragement from friends, families, and past guests I’ve taken boating with me, I decided to begin offering trips professionally. I’m proud to be part of the Sailo community, helping make boating more accessible and family friendly while supporting our local boating scene. I am certified and registered with Transport Canada under the Small Vessel Compliance Program for passenger vessels. I look forward to welcoming your friends and family aboard and creating fun, memorable experiences you’ll be talking about long after the trip ends.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
