Description

This is Santa Barbara’s most exclusive private charter, aboard a classic sailing yacht.
Sailing in Santa Barbara has never looked so good.

The Yacht
Sailing in Santa Barbara has never looked so good. Cruise our iconic coast in old-world style with modern luxury aboard our Sailing Yacht — a classic Fuji 35’ Cutter. This shimmering blue beauty is a J.G. Alden designed masterpiece built in Japan in 1976 and refitted in Santa Barbara, California in 2022.

Her exquisite teak aft deck, sleek lines, and superior seaworthiness, make her perfect for a smooth sailing adventure. Down below a charming teak cabin invites guests with her wood burning fireplace and wrap around dining area. Modern appliances and clean and updated washroom give the yacht a homey feel.

Yacht has a mainsail, staysail and headsail. Her three-sheets design gives her speed, maneuverability, and seaworthiness. She was designed to be a pleasure at sea and we hope you will find sailing aboard her, just that.

A cruise along the American Riviera will be an unforgettable experience aboard the yacht as she smoothly sails the coast whilst flying the flag of her beloved hometown hailing port, Santa Barbara.

The Experience
"Authentic Sailing Experiences" means a true immersive sailing experience that instills the heart of the wind and ocean into all aboard. It is not just a ride, it is a feeling.

Your party of up to six passengers will enjoy an exhilarating private sailboat charter along the Santa Barbara coastline with magnificent ocean and mountain views. You’ll have the time of your life aboard the classic yacht, with her exquisite wooden features, and smooth sailing style. Sit back, relax, delight in the ocean breeze and occasional wildlife sightings such as harbor seals, sea lions, bottlenose dolphins, and much more.

Boat rules

  • Can we have more than 6 passengers in our party?
  • Unfortunately no, United States Coast Guard Federal Law prohibits uninspected passenger vessels (UPVs) from carrying more than 6 paying passengers. We value our charter permit and appreciate your understanding.
  • Are we allowed to bring outside alcohol or food?
  • We appreciate you not bringing outside food or drink aboard. We have a wonderful selection of beer & wine from the region available from our yacht’s donation bar. Catering options are available during checkout. We have two different sized picnic platters suitable for 2-6 people.
  • What should we bring?
  • We recommend dressing in layers as it tends to be 10º cooler on the water than on land. A hat, polarized sunglasses, camera and non-aerosol reef safe sunblock will make your experience more comfortable.
  • Yacht has warm blankets aboard if you forget a jacket!
  • Warm socks are encouraged, we have a NO SHOES policy aboard the yacht.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
