Description

A popular choice for celebrations and corporate charters. It is an Islander Freeport 41. Built-in Costa Mesa, California. All the Islander Freeports have a slightly different interior layout and this yacht has the best we have ever seen. It has a teak planking covering the entire interior. You will have trouble finding a more finely fitted yacht anywhere. In 2006 the exterior was completely redone with fresh awlgrip giving the boat a nearly new finish. We got our hands on this amazing yacht and transitioned her from a work of art to a mean sailing machine. Brand new custom sails and rigging in 2011, coupled with a premium sound system makes it perfect for high-end entertaining and parties for any occasion. Her custom deck layout means a larger cockpit able to accommodate more passengers, and during our team building events that means more people can participate in the fun.

While our boats are coast guard licensed for 36 passengers, we are limiting to groups of 24 or less for comfort and class.

We are also limiting to 5 hours sail time. Luckily for us we are only 1 mile from Alcatraz and we can easily still hit all the best spots in the bay even in 90 minutes of sailing.

We have a catering menu available or there is a small ($150) corkage fee for self-catered/bar events. We can do a cash/open bar on-board as well.

NO RED WINE

The price listed includes the boat rental, ice and ice chests, cups, captain and crew to help set up and clean up as well as a customary gratuity. We also have a Bluetooth speaker on board, you are welcome to bring your own massive system if you want as well.

No Water Activities.

If it’s raining hard we won’t go out at all. If it’s light/ off and in the rain, we will still sail and you can decide for yourself if you want to go on or reschedule or get a refund. We won’t make you sail in the rain.

The prices are estimates and depend on the number of guests, the catering, and the bar package you choose. Please contact us for pricing and package options! We can't wait to have you aboard!

It was easy to find and the crew was so helpful and understanding. It was a great experience for the entire family and especially a bunch of long retired sailors. My one critique is that the captain did not know it was an ash spreading. So the communication from my booking to him probably should have been clearer or there should've been a note. We were not offended but another group might have been.

We all had a wonderful time.
Captain Dave and Caleb were top notch.
It was Fleet Week Saturday and we got to see it all with the exception of the Blue Angels who had to cancel because the weather worsened later in the afternoon.
All in all, it was a great experience.
We will do it again,

Location & Destination Guide

Ah San Francisco! The City by the Bay is a maritime dream and one of America’s most iconic cities. Sailing in San Francisco is probably the best way to experience her in all her glory…

Many people say that this is one of the most European feeling cities in America, and with historic streets and a vibe that is still very alternative, it’s easy to see why. And, with so much to see and do on the water, sailing in San Francisco is a uniquely thrilling experience.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
