Description

Thanks for your interest in chartering our boat. This is by far the nicest, best maintained and fastest charter sailboat on the West Coast. She is the SF to world record holder…we broke that back in 1995 and our record still stands! She has been fully restored so she is in absolutely gorgeous condition. She is quite literally the most beautiful charter sailboat in the United States! She always has freshly varnished teak, polished fiberglass and great sails! She’s perfect for sailing on SF Bay and there is no sailboat faster than her.

Our normal conditions start out with winds of 5-10 knots between the hours of 9 am - 12 noon. from Noon to 2 pm the winds build to 20+ knots and after 3 pm it is very common for us to be sailing in 20+ knots of wind until just after the sunset when the wind drops back to 15-18 knots. The mellowest time to sail is definitely 11-2 or 12-3. If you’re looking for a fun, fast ride, book her 2-5. We have many options to make the sail as mellow or exciting as you’d like.

Boat Rules
Please dress warm and in layers. It’s always beautiful down at South Beach Harbor but will certainly get a bit cooler out around Alcatraz. Panoramic views abound from every point onboard the boat. We sail under the Bay Bridge twice and the Golden Gate will be right up front of your view. Depend on the tides and winds we often get under the Gate if we leave by 11am.

You can bring food and soft drinks or we can arrange for catering and beverages (including beer, wine & seltzers) from our galley! Our menu is attached to the photos section of the boat page.

We must, as per our state liquor license, sell the alcoholic beverages. We have beer & wine available for purchase onboard at $8 beverage (cash) or we can run one single tally on an approved credit card. We have a variety of premium beers, wines and seltzers.

We also do full catering with a Custom Box Lunch program & our NEW Salad & Pizza Menus. We'll handle the catering after you purchase the charter, if you so desire. Menus are attached here as pics.

The crew was very clear and professional. We got lucky with the weather and got a gorgeous scenic sail along the city, Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio, Bay Bridge and ended up by the Giant’s stadium. Couldn’t have asked for a better time and surprise for our daughter’s bday!! 😊

Location & Destination Guide

Ah San Francisco! The City by the Bay is a maritime dream and one of America’s most iconic cities. Sailing in San Francisco is probably the best way to experience her in all her glory…

Many people say that this is one of the most European feeling cities in America, and with historic streets and a vibe that is still very alternative, it’s easy to see why. And, with so much to see and do on the water, sailing in San Francisco is a uniquely thrilling experience.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
