Tom is truly an amazing captain and I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to rent a yacht in the Bay Area. Tom an Leah are an amazing team working together. I reserved Tom's charter for my wife birthday celebration with friends and family and he and Leah made it the experience of a lifetime we will never forget. The weather wasn't great on the day we sailed out, but Tom still found a way to make it special and take care of us all in every way possible and was so accommodating. He constantly communicates and works with you in every way possible to make your cruise special to meet your needs. We will definitely be booking Tom and Leah again in the future since they are amazing!

We had an incredible day on Gratitude with Captain Tom. He is very knowledgeable about the Bay area, and took us on an incredible route where we saw all kinds sealife...including whales! It was a perfect day, and truly couldn't recommend enough.

We will be rebooking next time we are in San Francisco. Thank you Captain!

This boat and our experience was top notch!! It was super clean, picked us up in a great spot, and accommodated us perfectly. Such an incredible time with the best captain and crew. Tom and Pat were 10/10! I highly recommend them for any trip you want to have a great time on!!

Location & Destination Guide

Ah San Francisco! The City by the Bay is a maritime dream and one of America’s most iconic cities. Sailing in San Francisco is probably the best way to experience her in all her glory…

Many people say that this is one of the most European feeling cities in America, and with historic streets and a vibe that is still very alternative, it’s easy to see why. And, with so much to see and do on the water, sailing in San Francisco is a uniquely thrilling experience.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
