Description

Join us on our private yacht - a racing and cruising yachts of the highest quality. These yachts have won many prestigious races including a round the world race. Our yacht has been exceptionally well cared for over the years as will be apparent as soon as you step aboard.

We sail from Sag Harbor for 1/4 day, 1/2 day and full day charters. Add an additional hour to 1/4 day (2 hour) or 1/2 day (4 hour) charters, if desired.

Sail with us around Gardiner's Bay and Northwest Harbor; let us show you one of the beautiful anchorages in the area to stop in for a swim; or perhaps a circumnavigation of Shelter Island? Two-hour (1/4 day) sunset sails also available. Please note that upon booking SailO charges a booking fee. Also, the launch to get to and from the yacht is $5 pp one way (cash or Venmo).

Custom cruises can also be designed. Mid-week excursions to Block Island also available (special pricing would apply) - recommend 3 days for this, includes breakfast.

The boat is kept very clean so we prefer that no one bring red cocktail sauce or red wine for example due to staining.

Crew

Alan is the captain/owner of the boat. He is a fully licensed (50 ton Masters) USCG captain with over 30 years sailing experience. At times, additional crew such as a deckhand may also be aboard.

    We really loved our sailing yesterday. Alan is an experienced skipper and we all felt safe in his charge. The boat is super as you would expect from a Swan design and set up for easy sailing. It is clean and ship-shape. Alan is a great host and good company. All in all a great half day cruise. We wished that we had taken a full day

    What a kind captain, fantastic boat and wonderful experience!

    Whether you're celebrating a birthday, looking for a hands on sailing experience or somewhere in between -- Captain Alan and the Wind Dancer is the boat for you! I can not say enough great things about this day out on this beautiful sailboat ... celebrating my brothers birthday and being avid boaters we were unsure what to expect. The beautiful day on the water far exceeded my expectations.

    Plenty of room below if you want to take a breather from the sun with a fully equipped area including a spacious fridge for drinks and food. An accommodative captain who helped keep the sandwiches chilled as well as the charter cruising ! We got to see a wide spread of coves and shoreline with Captain Alan using his sailing experience to create a path that fit our viewing goals for the day.

    Again, whether you're between boats or unsure where to begin --this is the boat for you! Such a wonderful time. We are already planning the next gorgeous day to get back on the water. Thank you Alan! See you again soon!

    Me and my friends had the best time on Alan’s boat! Alan was super responsive and organized when planning the boat. Once we were there he was a lot of fun and helped us have the best time possible! The boat was beautiful, and we were able to play music through his speakers, swim and use his rafts, and eat and drink on the boat. Overall great experience.

    Alan was so lovely sea captain and super professional and made us feel right at home on his well maintained sail boat. The kids had a blast with all his float toys and even took them out on his tender for a bit of tubbing fun!
    Alan was really knowledgeable about where to go and really created a lovely sailing experience for us all. Even the dogs have fun onboard, we are booking again in August.

    The sailboat was beautiful and well maintained. It was well equipped and comfortable. Alan, the Captain, was informative, professional, and an amazing teacher. He was fun, easy going, responsive, flexible and thorough in every way. Conversation flowed as if we were old friends and his passion for sailing was evident.

    Highly recommend!!!!
