Crew
As a seasoned waterman, I grew up riding the waves and exploring the shores. From a young age, I found solace in the ocean, chasing the thrill of surfing wherever I could find it. I inherited a passion for sailing as well, crossing both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans during my adventures. These days, I spend most of my free time chasing waves around the world - it's where I feel most alive. As captain of the 40-foot boat, I carry guests on exciting day charters around the islands, sharing my love of the sea with each one. Whether on the water or off, I am a true waterman at heart, driven by the endless possibilities and wonders of the ocean.

Our Captain Makeem was awesome! He knew all the great destinations to hit and even through in a little extra. Boat was very comfortable and provisions were spot on. My friends and I would highly recommend you spend a day on the water with Captain Makeem.
We had an incredible half-day trip with Quintessence Charters on their boat, Apotheoseas, during our visit to Tortola, BVI. Although we couldn’t visit The Baths due to weather (still waiting for Quintessence to figure out how to fix that—hmm!), Captain Keanen made the experience unforgettable by taking us to secluded beaches with breathtaking scenery and some of the best snorkeling we’ve ever had. The variety of vibrant fish was a highlight for our family.
Captain Keanen was outstanding—accommodating, respectful, and always ready with thoughtful suggestions for alternative spots. The Apotheoseas may look a bit unconventional, but it’s super stable and perfectly comfortable, especially in rough waters. It offered plenty of shade for those who needed it, and while boarding from the water was slightly challenging, Captain Keanen was always there to help.
One highlight of the trip was visiting the iconic floating bar and restaurant Willy T’s, where we had a blast jumping into the water from the second deck. Their conch fritters were absolutely delicious—a must-try!
I’d absolutely recommend this charter to anyone visiting Tortola. It’s conveniently located just a short walk from the cruise pier, and the entire process—from communication to execution—was seamless and enjoyable. Quintessence Charters made our trip a memorable adventure!
Captain Andrew and Captain Nathan were both very communicative and informative. They wanted to ensure we had the best time during our trip. However, we paid for an add on (the party and adventure add on), which was extra on top of the amount for the boat, and we were told they don't actually follow those, so it seemed we paid for something we did not get. However, Captain Nathan let us customize our trip with what we wanted, which was great. We were able to visit the spots we wanted, get some food, and relax a little at the end. Overall, it was still a great experience.
