Relax and Enjoy the NYC Skyline aboard a modern spacious Hunter Marine Passage 450. Capt Mark grew up on the Hudson River and brings years of sailing experience. He is a teaching captain, thinking out loud always making all other captains feel very comfortable.
Please be advised the boat pictures are extremely representative of exactly what you are going to get unlike one of the reviews from someone who was two hours and 45 minutes late for their charter and even though we went extra time and I received a $140 tip, they simply wanted their money back and this booking organization wouldn’t give it to them.
Everything I do is date and time stamped on the chart plotter. I was easily able to provide this booking agency the fact that I was there and available at 11 AM and they did not show and we didn’t leave the dock until 1:45 PM. They also show that I arrived back at the dock at 7:45 PM just 15 minutes before of their original charter end time time and 30 minutes before we had a downpour and I showed Sailo the radar historical data confirming that even though they claimed there was no reason to come back 15 minutes early. The head (toilet) systems are freshwater like on a mega yacht. This group of guests were supposed to be 10 guests and it ended up being 14 guests and all had a phenomenal time. Of course they were not boaters and didn’t bring any of the types of foods that someone would bring to a picnic or a boat.
They fully expected to eat around an inside table where they piled three days worth of bags and luggage as if it was Gilligans island.
We used the inside dining table (for 6) as a serving buffet and we all had lobster with drawn garlic butter and other foods were reheated in my oven.
I live on this boat and it is for day charters of 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours.
The main salon, forward state room and forward head is for the guests to use for changing and or using the bathroom where we place nothing down the toilet that didn’t cross your lips first like on any big or small boat. We put the paper in a bag behind the door. If this is unacceptable to any guests then you should definitely not do any kind of a boating.
Captain Mark is an entertainer and avid musician and most New Yorkers have heard him performing around town or on the radio doing jingles.
He never quit his day job as an engineer CPA accountant legal document writer, code writer and consultant in the daily news paper industry. Everyone will be thoroughly entertained.
A standard four hour cruise from One°15 Marina in Brooklyn requires an extra $150 Boarding fee plus $10 per person. (I charge a $150 reposition fee which is included in your booking fees)
Chelsea Pier in Manhattan requires a flat $300 flat boarding fee. The least expensive place around Manhattan is the Liberty Landing Marina charging only a flat $100 to board the boat.
Chartering from this area includes sailing around the tip of Manhattan, seeing the New York City skyline, passing close by the Statue of Liberty, and teaching other sailors tips and tricks for big boat sail handling and maneuvering. This includes sailing with fractional sail exposed on the windy days to keep the ride nice and smooth and very stable.
The boat is based in Port Washington where boarding fees are only $8 per person on the Water Taxi which will bring you to the mooring field. We can also board at the City Island Lobster house in the Bronx if you dine there. Port Washington is a $9.75 short Long Island Rail Road ride from Penn Station in Manhattan. Right across the street from the North Town Dock is a Stop and Shop grocery market and liquor store allowing you to grab any supplies for your cruise. I supply a good 40 pounds of ice and all the 16.9 ounce bottled water you require.
From Port Washington and/or City Island cruises are much more relaxed with less boat traffic around us and better sailing to protected Hempstead Bay or Sand Point where the boat can easily be stopped for swimming if so desired.
Given the full Bimini and raised solar panels covering the entire after deck everyone can relax in the shade.
Ice-filled coolers are available, and there is always a stock of 16.9 ounce bottles of water, Crystal Light ice tea mix, and whatever alcohol you want to bring onto the boat. There are Bluetooth speakers back and be driven by anyone’s smart phone playlist.
Cruises can also be easily specially catered upon request.
The boat is a center cockpit sloop-rigged sailboat with in-mast furling main and furling jib. Aft steps give easy access to the water. Aft hot and cold shower at steps.
The aft deck frequently accommodates 11 guests with 8 people seated and specific chairs and two others sitting on towels on the back deck under the shade of the solar panels.
The large center cockpit can easily accommodate 8 guests.
There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out on deck during a 4 or 8 hour sail.
Full galley with microwave.
The boat is fast and it does it’s theoretical hull speed of 8.4 kn with half tanks and flat seas with only 18 knots of wind.
Several cushioned chase lounge seating.
The boat can be repositioned anywhere in the New York metro area from Port Washington. Please remember it is a three hour ride down to East River at maximum current timing which might be 2 o’clock in the morning to accommodate an outing around Manhattan.

Many years of sailing and entertaining experience.
We can reposition the boat easily to City Island of the Chelsea Pier on 59th or the 79th St Boat Basin on the West side of Manhattan.
Usually this boat operates around Port Washington, NY.
New York City looks great from the ground, but that view from the water is something else! Jump aboard a Sailo boat rental from the Big Apple and experience the thrill of the sea - and snap plenty of incredible pictures. Sailing in NYC is a must on your summer bucket list, whether you are visiting or a New Yorker.
It might not be the first thing you think of when finding things to do in New York City, but renting a boat for a full day or just a few hours is a truly memorable experience.
