Description

Escape the typical cruise-port excursion and spend your day fishing the remote southwest coast of the Dominican Republic on a private center-console sportfishing boat for up to 4 guests.

Your trip starts with round-trip transportation from the Port Cabo Rojo cruise terminal to La Cueva de las Águilas in Pedernales, approximately 25 minutes away. From there, board your private fishing boat and head toward the reefs or deeper offshore waters with an experienced captain and fishing guide.

Choose between deep-sea fishing or reef fishing, with a minimum charter duration of 4 hours. Offshore trips focus on trolling for species such as mahi-mahi, wahoo and blackfin tuna, while reef fishing takes place in calmer waters targeting snapper, grunts and jacks using bottom-fishing techniques.

All fishing equipment, rods, reels, bait and tackle are provided. Your captain and guide will prepare the gear, bait the hooks and assist throughout the trip, making the experience suitable for experienced anglers as well as beginners, couples and small families.

The boat features twin outboard engines and a T-top for shade. It is an open fishing boat without a restroom or cabin, designed for guests who want a straightforward, authentic fishing experience.

Cruise schedules are carefully considered. Pickup is normally arranged around 45–60 minutes after your ship docks, and the return is planned to have you back at Port Cabo Rojo at least 60 minutes before your ship's all-aboard time. Your ship must remain in port for at least 7.5 hours to accommodate the excursion.

Please note that fishing conditions and catches vary by season and weather, so specific fish cannot be guaranteed. Cruise ships do not permit guests to bring their catch back on board, so any retained legal catch must remain ashore.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
