Description

Jeanneau 50 DS

Thus is a beautiful 50-foot Jeanneau 50 DS sailing yacht, offering the perfect combination of comfort, space, performance, and style for exploring Vancouver from the water.

With a spacious cockpit, comfortable seating, generous deck space, and a bright, welcoming interior, This yacht provides plenty of room to relax while taking in the spectacular views of Vancouver, the North Shore mountains, and the surrounding coastline.

The Jeanneau 50 DS is designed for both performance and comfort, making her equally enjoyable under sail or simply cruising along the coast. Guests can sit back and enjoy the experience while our experienced captain takes care of the sailing and navigation.

This is operated as a private, personal sailing experience rather than a large commercial tour. We keep our charters relaxed and intimate, allowing our guests to enjoy the boat, the scenery, and each other's company.

And, of course, there is one additional crew member who often steals the show—Frederick, our resident sailing cat. He has become a favourite with many of our guests and is almost always happy to be aboard.

50 feet of sailing, comfort, and Vancouver's spectacular coastline.

About Chris

I’ve spent more than 45 years on the water, and sailing has always been a big part of my life. After decades of boating, including 16 years volunteering in marine Search and Rescue, I decided to turn that passion into something I could share with others.

Today, Michelle and I run Plan B Sailing Charters, sharing our love of sailing and Vancouver’s incredible coastline with guests from near and far. Our Jeanneau 50 DS is more than just a boat to us—it’s our home on the water and the place where we get to create unforgettable experiences for others.

And then there’s Frederick, our cat and, quite honestly, a big part of the Plan B experience. He has become a bit of a local celebrity with our guests. He loves being on the boat, keeping an eye on things, and welcoming people aboard in his own very particular way.

For us, sailing is about much more than simply getting from one place to another. It’s about slowing down, enjoying the moment, connecting with the people you’re with, and experiencing Vancouver from a completely different perspective.

Whether it’s a private celebration, a corporate team experience, a day with friends, or simply an afternoon on the water, our goal is to make every trip safe, relaxed, personal, and memorable.

We love sharing our knowledge and passion for the water, but most of all, we love seeing people discover just how special Vancouver is from the water.

Come sailing with us. See Vancouver differently.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
