Description
Step aboard the 80 foot schooner and recall a time when nautical artisans spent a lifetime mastering their crafts as you take in the flag blue hull, elegant varnished trim, traditional gaff rigging, pinrails, coiled lines and 4 billowing sails of this turn-of-the century style schooner.
Designed by world renowned naval architect Charles Wittholz, whose plans are in Mystic Seaport, she is an accurate reproduction of a late 1800's coasting schooner that was built specifically to carry guests in safety and comfort.
Comfortable teak seats with back rests and perfect-height cabin tops provide plenty of room for seating and lounging. Unlike many modern seating layouts that don't allow guests to move around, Aquidneck's traditional wide side decks afford plenty of room for guests to move about and take in the views with ease.
Although the wind and tide vary and we try to sail as much as possible, on all trips you'll see the major sights including Goat Island, where the U.S. Navy made most of the torpedoes used in WWII, Fort Adams, one of the largest forts on the East Coast, Hammersmith Farm, the summer Whitehouse of JFK and Clingstone, an iconic home perched on a rocky outcropping. Vintage America’s Cup boats, lighthouses, superyachts and weekly races are common sights.
*Quarter Day prices are for a 1 hour and 45 minute sail*
