Description

This is a vintage "storybook" Square-Topsail Ketch designed by Hugh Angleman and built by the American Marine shipyard almost entirely out of teak, in a design that harkens back to the eighteenth century. She flies up to seven sails at a time inducing the gaff main and mizzen, stay sail, jib, flying jib, square topsail, and course. Any salty old mariner will surely have a smile on their face as they take the helm either on her aft deck or inside the pilot house if the weather is not very warm. On deck there is plenty of room for lounging and taking in the beautiful coastal views! Below decks she is appointed with a Great Cabin at the stern, with two single bunks that are convertible to doubles, and can be divided into two more private sleeping areas with a bulkhead in between. Forward of the midships pilot house is the main cabin, which houses the galley and dinette as well as two additional single bunks.

Perfect vessel for adventuring over to Catalina Island for the weekend, or more adventurous jaunts circumnavigating Catalina or voyaging to the Channel Islands and beyond!

Crew

Andrew: Sailing is my passion, my life and my career! I caught the sailing bug at the age of eleven and have been at it ever since! I grew up in the Sea Scouts program, raced for my High School's Sailing Team all four years of school, and taught sailing (even directed the sailing program) for ten years before completing my captain's license and starting my own sailing excursion business. I love being on the water and sharing that experience with others! Missy: I've spent the last 18 years working in restaurants and coffee shops, but sailing captured my heart and now I can't give it up! Captain Andrew taught me everything I know, and will soon be sending me to get my Captain's License so I can continue sharing my newfound love of being out on the water.

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Newport Beach, CA.

It’s big, bold and very glitzy. Los Angeles is probably one of the world’s most glamorous and vibrant cities, making it both enthralling and exhausting. But with the ocean right there on the doorstep, to get on Marina Del Rey boat rental is a thrilling way to recharge those batteries and enjoy a whole other side to LA LA Land.
