Your Captain and Crew –
We are the proud home of a team of skilled, professional, and fun captain / crew members — each with at least a decade of experience in private sailboat charters in NYC. Your captain is fully certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, holding a commercial captain’s license and is professionally trained in First Aid, CPR, and AED operation. Your first mate is expertly trained not only to ensure your safety under the captain’s direction, but also to keep the energy high and the vibes just right!

The time you book on our boat is entirely yours to enjoy. Our captains are more than happy to accommodate your preferences in order to make the experience uniquely yours. You will have the chance to communicate directly with your captain beforehand to help better assist you with the planning. If you’d like a suggested itinerary, we’re happy to provide options based on popular routes and what the wind and tides allow.

POPULAR ITINERARIES
2 Hours: Sail through NY Harbor to see Hudson Yards, the Statue of Liberty (or Brooklyn Bridge), Ellis Island, Governors Island, and the Financial District, with views extending to Staten Island and the Verrazano Bridge.

3 Hours: In addition to NY Harbor highlights, explore the East River, including the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, and South Street Seaport.

Around Manhattan (3.5 hours): Circumnavigate the entire island. This immersive experience takes you along both the Hudson and
East Rivers really showcasing New York from all angles.

4-8 Hours: Enjoy an extended sailing experience, exploring the Palisades’ cliffs, or even spotting dolphins and humpback whales past the Verrazano Narrows.

WEATHER POLICY
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, no worries, we’re easygoing and want you to have the best possible experience. The captain uses professional marine weather charts, which are more reliable than phone weather apps, so we’ll keep a close eye on things and stay in touch as we get closer to the date.

Our weather policy allows you to reschedule anytime within a year if the captain deems it unsafe or unpleasant to sail.

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
