WHO WE ARE?
We are a luxury sailing charter company with gourmet 5 star cuisine. Founded by Captain and Chef Matthew Mancini and supported by a crew of lifelong watermen, we live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.
We share a deep passion for quality food and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the profound peace that comes from an alignment with the rhythms of the ocean. We’ve been fortunate enough to have been immersed in the ocean and gourmet foods our entire lives and derive great joy from sharing these experiences.

Matthew was a great captain to safely take our family and friends out to sea in celebration of my husband’s birthday. He was accommodating for our little ones and made us all feel at ease. We would gladly recommend him for future trips and though I managed to break my toe getting aboard his vessel, that doesn’t take away from the good times had by all. It was exactly the day we all needed 🥰

Amazing experience! Captain was so kind and knowledgable and the boat was beyond beautiful. There was 1 person a tad seasick but he took care of her and made sure she was in the best situation possible for the circumstance. She was smiling and laughing throughout the three hour trip and had the very best time (even with the slight hiccup of seasickness!)

Every detail far exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to do it again! Thank you Captain Matthew, you are THE best!

Matthew was beyond amazing. We did a burial at sea and it was just our family on the boat and he literally fit right in. He helped my dad who has Parkinson’s to and from the bathroom and even gave him sweatpants so he could be nice and dry since his diaper leaked a bit. We were all so impressed with his kindness and his very chill vibe. He knew when to chime in and even got my dad laughing really hard which was so great. The sail was smooth and beautiful and the food he provided was super yummy if there were more stars to give I would give them. I highly recommend captain Matt and his beautiful sailboat.

Had the most wonderful experience with Captain Matthew and his beautiful sailboat. He was very responsive, friendly and took care of us very well. We enjoyed the trip so much that we booked another sail the very next day. Highly recommended.

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Marina Del Rey, CA.

It’s big, bold and very glitzy. Los Angeles is probably one of the world’s most glamorous and crazy cities, making it both enthralling and exhausting. But with the ocean right there on the doorstep, sailing in Los Angeles is a thrilling way to recharge those batteries and enjoy a whole other side to LA LA Land.

Most of our Sailo yacht charters can be found in Marina del Rey, a mere stones throw from Santa Monica.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?

No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! more...

What should I bring?

Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. more...

How long does a rental last?

The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests. more...
