Ericson sailboats are classic. Designed by Bruce King, these vessels are known for their great sailing characteristics, quality build, and beautiful teak interiors. Our boat has "crispy" new sails, a clean bathroom, a Harken roller furling jib, Edson wheel steering, and autopilot.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating my daughter's 25th birthday on Max's boat. Max was a great captain!

Mark and Marco were welcoming, knowledgeable and tailored the trip to meet our needs. We will definitely book again when back in the area and would highly recommend them to our friends.

I have served as the director of Leeway Sailing Center for ten years and have seasons of Lido 14's and Catalina 37' sailboat races under my belt. Additionally, I helped crew on the first-place vessel, a Santa Cruz 70', in the Newport to Ensenada race in 2015. So I can certainly keep the vessel afloat! hah! This experience isn't about me though, its about getting you and your partner or group on the water for some fun or relaxation. Having traveled around the world, I have experienced incredible hospitality and do my best to pay it back by providing great outings to those who join me for a cruise. I strive for passengers to walk away from the charter truly feeling as though I am "their friend with a boat"! When I am not sailing, I can be found surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and traveling aboard.

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Long Beach, CA.

It’s big, bold and very glitzy. Los Angeles is probably one of the world’s most glamorous and crazy cities, making it both enthralling and exhausting. But with the ocean right there on the doorstep, sailing in Los Angeles is a thrilling way to recharge those batteries and enjoy a whole other side to LA LA Land.

Most of our Sailo yacht charters can be found in Marina del Rey, a mere stones throw from Santa Monica.

What type of yacht should I charter?

No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! more...

What should I bring?

Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. more...

How long does a rental last?

The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests. more...
