Description

Any occasion is a great one to get out on the water and enjoy some relaxing and refreshing ocean time… especially here in Hawaii where the air is balmy and year-round trade winds provide us with wonderful sailing conditions.
This is the best kept charter boat in the islands and a wonderful sailing machine. She is Oahu-based and accommodates 1-6 guests. *** This hard and fast 6-guest rule is not mine..it is the US Coast Guard's. Violation would mean a huge fine and losing my permits.***

Our exposed coastline is subject to currents, has unspectacular reef and no secluded coves/ lagoons in our sailing area; for your enjoyment, snorkeling/ swimming is not offered. Your private charter is a sailing experience, allowing a supreme tradewind sail that only Hawaii can offer.

It seems these days people have heard about "the sandbar". The sandbar is located in Kaneohe Bay which is on the other side of the island from home. So, no, the sandbar is not part of our itinerary.

Pricing is for couples...they get a discount over a bigger group. You will be given another price if your group is 3-6 people. While Sailo doesn't list a 3-hour sail, there are available. Please just ask.

Gratuities are not included in the price. After your sail, they are a lovely way to say "mahalo" if you feel your experience is deserving. They are graciously accepted, never expected.

We had an amazing time with Gaelyn on our sunset boat ride. She was welcoming, accommodating, and very responsive through our entire experience. By far the highlight of our trip to Oahu!

Gaelyn was extremely accommodating and provided all that was necessary to have a superior sunset cruise. She kept the boat calm even on a windy and rougher day! My boyfriend and I wanted to have a relaxing sail with beautiful views, and that was what we got! We were able to bring our own little picnic, (Gaelyn provided cutlery, cups, and a cooler), along with a speaker so that we could listen to music. She offered to take photos and was absolute lovely conversation. I highly recommend this skilled captain and sweet human to provide you with a sail you wont soon forget.

About Capt. Gaelyn

Whether you’re an old salt or a long-time landlubber, you are in good hands with Capt. Gaelyn. This experienced, friendly skipper knows Hawaii’s waters and the best spots where the endangered honu (green sea turtles) hang out. (How cool is that!)
NEW ZEALAND, Home of Sailors
Capt. Gaelyn grew up in windy Wellington, NZ. Sailing the roaring forties is an excellent training ground for sailing Hawaiian waters. At age 14 her friend took her sailing, and she was hooked. There have been a few years 😉 and many, many ocean hours since that time, and she wants to share them with YOU.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
