WEATHER/CANCELLATION POLICY
We have a no-rain and small craft advisory policy so we do not set sail if it is currently raining or rain is imminent in the forecast. We also obviously care about your safety, so we will not set sail in inclement weather and during any small craft advisory. We will generally make those decisions 2-hours before sailing time. If our captain decides not to set sail that day, due to rain or if a small craft advisory is in effect, you will have the option to receive a rain date for a period of 28 months. This allows you 3 summer seasons to reschedule. We will apply your payment and you will receive that credit to sail again within the next 28 months.

Once a client books a boat we notify all subsequent inquiries that “the boat is taken and unavailable”. For this reason we do not offer any refund on cancellations. If you cancel a reservation up to 90 days before your sail date, we do allow a no-cost change of date. Inclement weather as stated above is the sole reason for any cancellation.

"Prices and availability may not be updated so please connect with me directly through the "Message Owner" button on the boat page for exact price and availability."

We had a beautiful time on the boat for my 30th birthday! Everything was perfect!

Three hour tour on the eve of Hurricane Henri - 5 stars! This was our first time booking on Sailo, and what a success. The Power Cat was the perfect vessel to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. Although it can accommodate 12; we were 10. There was plenty of room to stand and move about; the boat is comfortable and stable. What was nice is that all of us could comfortably sit and be on deck together as a group; many boats don't have the deck space for entertaining so comfortably. Capt. Alex and his first mate couldn't have been more helpful, accommodating, and both were attentive to make sure we were all comfortable and safe. Oh, and did I mention that this all happened on the eve before Hurricane Henri was to make landfall!?! We enjoyed the calm before the storm, and had the entire bay to ourselves. What a terrific evening. The owner was responsive to my nervous calls day of. Only one glitch (why the 4 stars on Accuracy) was the listing which had listed Sag Harbor - so we thought the boat was going from that dock which would have been more convenient for our guests; when actually it was anchored in East Hampton. It ended up fine (considering the mass exodus from the Hamptons that day), and Sailo offered a $200 refund for the inconvenience which I thought showed good will and customer service. I definitely recommend this boat. I would use Sailo again, and look forward to our next boat trip.

Location & Destination Guide

New York City looks great from the ground, but that view from the water is something else! Jump aboard a Sailo boat rental from the Big Apple and experience the thrill of the sea - and snap plenty of incredible pictures. Sailing in NYC is a must on your summer bucket list, whether you are visiting or a New Yorker.

It might not be the first thing you think of when finding things to do in New York City, but renting a boat for a full day or just a few hours is a truly memorable experience.

FAQs

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! Read more
What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
