1. Sailing License and Experience Requirements: A valid sailing license is required to charter a yacht without a professional skipper. Greek authorities recognize certifications like ASA & RYA. The license must be presented in the English language or accompanied by a suitable translation. A day skipper license is not accepted. The skipper is required to maintain an updated and authorized crew list on board at all times. Local port authorities may demand a sailing experience declaration from both the skipper and co-skipper. It is essential to understand that our company is legally obligated to reject any sailing license that is not recognized or accepted by the Greek Port Authorities. Furthermore, the company maintains the authority to require charterers to employ a professional skipper if there are any doubts regarding their sailing abilities, either at the time of embarkation or at any point thereafter. These strict requirements are in place to ensure the safety and legality of your sailing experience with us. Compliance with these regulations is not optional but a necessary part of the chartering process.
2. Mandatory Awareness and Responsibility for Weather Conditions: Charterers are required to be fully vigilant and informed about upcoming weather conditions. This is a non-negotiable responsibility to ensure the safety of both the yacht and the crew. It is imperative that charterers understand that navigating in harsh weather conditions is done at their own risk, and they will be held accountable for any adverse outcomes resulting from their decisions. In situations where the charterer's lack of seamanship or ignorance of severe weather conditions leads to unnecessary engagement of the Greek Coastguard, it is within the Coastguard's rights to impose charges on the charterer. This policy is strictly enforced to underscore the critical importance of responsible navigation and adherence to safety protocols. Charterers must demonstrate competent navigation skills and sound judgment in all-weather scenarios to avoid potential risks and additional costs.
3. Strict Procedure for Yacht Delivery and Redelivery: It is imperative for clients to adhere to the specific procedure established by us for the delivery and redelivery of the yacht. This process is non-negotiable and critical for ensuring the yacht's condition and readiness. Upon delivery, an experienced company’s representative will conduct a thorough presentation of the yacht, known as the check-in process. This occurs sharply at 17:00 on the first day of the charter. During this time, the client must meticulously familiarize themselves with the yacht and all its equipment, confirming that everything is functioning correctly. The client's full attention and cooperation are required during this process. For redelivery, the client is strictly obligated to return the yacht to the designated base on the evening before the final disembarkation day. A detailed technical inspection will be conducted to assess the yacht's condition post-charter. The check-out process is scheduled for approximately 09:00 on the last charter day. Clients must understand that it is their sole responsibility to return the yacht to the agreed location and at the agreed time. This includes making prudent judgments regarding weather conditions to ensure a timely return. Failure to comply with these terms, resulting in the late return of the yacht, will incur additional charges as stipulated in the Charter Party Agreement.
