Boat rules

  • Smoking Policy: Smoking is not permitted inside the boat. Smoking is only allowed at the stern of the boat. Please be respectful of this policy to ensure the comfort of all guests.
  • Charter Start and End Times: The charter will begin on the first day at 12:00 pm and will finish on the last day at 12:00 pm. Please plan your travel accordingly.
  • Guest Accommodation: Mahan can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests in its double-occupancy cabins. We do not accept more than the maximum capacity for comfort and safety reasons.
  • Crewed Charter: The boat is operated by a professional crew consisting of a captain and a chef/first mate. Please note, there is no option for a bareboat charter or additional crew.
  • Christmas Charter: Charters during the Christmas season must finish by December 26th. No departures will be allowed after this date.
  • New Year’s Charter: For New Year’s charters, the earliest possible departure is December 27th. Please book accordingly if you wish to celebrate the New Year aboard.
  • Cruising Area: The Bodhisattva charter is available exclusively within the British Virgin Islands for the 2025-2026 season. No other cruising areas will be accommodated.
  • Behavior and Noise: Please be considerate of your fellow guests. Mahana is a peaceful, luxury experience, and loud noise or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Water Sports Equipment: All water sports equipment will be provided by the crew. Please follow all safety instructions provided by the crew before engaging in any water activities.
  • Safety First: All guests must comply with the safety regulations and crew instructions while aboard. Life jackets must be worn when instructed by the crew, especially during water-based activities.

What type of yacht should I charter?
No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. What should I bring?
Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. Read more
How long does a rental last?
The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests.
