Qualifying Boat Rental

Definition

The Sailo Referral Program allows registered Sailo users to earn Boating credits toward future boat rentals by referring friends to Sailo.

To participate, Sailo users must agree to these terms, which become part of the Sailo Terms of Service.

How to Earn Boating Credits

Sailo users can earn Boating credits towards future boat rentals on Sailo.com if: (i) they share their personal and individually generated link with a friend; ii) the referred friend clicks on their referral link and signs up on Sailo; and (iii) the referred friend completes a Qualifying Boat Rental as a renter.

The referring Sailo User will be credited with the Boating credits amount described in the accompanying promotional materials. Users may earn a maximum of 5,000 USD in Boating credits per account.

Qualifying Boat Rental

A Qualifying Boat Rental represents any boat rental priced over $500 that is executed using Sailo website: boat is booked, trip is paid and completed with no claims. The referred friend must complete the trip before the Sailo user can receive the Boating credits.

Redeeming Boating Credits

Boating credits may not be combined with additional coupons. Boating credits may not be transferred or exchanged for any cash or money. Boating credits may not be earned by creating multiple Sailo accounts. Boating credits accumulated in multiple Sailo accounts may not be used for one booking.

Sharing Referral Links

Referrals should only be used for personal and noncommercial purposes, and only shared with personal connections that will appreciate receiving these invitations. Referral links should not be published or distributed where there is no reasonable basis for believing that all or most of the recipients are personal friends (such as coupon websites, Reddit, or Wikipedia).

Referred Friends

Referred friends who signed up using a valid referral link will also receive a Boating credit toward their next Qualifying Boat Rental on Sailo. The standard Boating credit is $100 (or its local currency equivalent* if we support it). Varying credit amounts and additional terms will be shown in the referral invitation or accompanying promotional materials.

Multiple Referrals

A referred friend may only use one referral link. If a referred friend receives referral links from multiple Sailo users, only the corresponding Sailo user of the referral link used by the referred friend will receive the Boating credits.

Severability

If any provision in these terms are held to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Termination and Change

Sailo may suspend or terminate the Referral Program or a user’s ability to participate in the Referral Program at any time for any reason. We reserve the right to suspend accounts or remove Boating credits if we notice any activity that we believe is abusive or fraudulent. We reserve the right to review and investigate all referral activities and to suspend accounts or modify referrals as deemed fair and appropriate.

Updates to the Terms

We can update these terms at any time without prior notice. If we modify these terms, we will post the modification on the Sailo.com website, applications, or services, which are effective upon posting. Continued participation in the Referral Program after any modification shall constitute consent to such modification.

* The referral’s local currency equivalent credit amount will be calculated using a system-wide rate, known as the base exchange rate, for currency conversion using data from one or more third parties, such as OANDA. We regularly update the base exchange rate, but it may not be identical to the real-time market rate.

I received an invite to join Sailo from a friend. How do I receive or use my Boating credits?

If your friend is a Sailo user and you are not, he/she can invite you to use his/her referral code or link. Once you have signed up on Sailo.com, your account will be credited with Boating credits, which you will be able to use on your first Qualifying Boat Rental. Your friend will get pending Boating credits which he/she will be able to use once you have completed your trip.

My friend booked a qualifying boat and I received the Boating credits. How do I use them?

When you share your referral code or link with a friend, you will receive the Boating credits after he/she completes a Qualifying Boat Rental. You will have the option to use your Boating credits toward any future boat rental over $500. If you choose to use your Boating credits, the total amount of credits will be deducted from the boat rental price. If the boat rental price is lower than the boat rental price, the remaining Boating credits will remain in your account and can be used for a future boat rental. Can I choose when to apply my Boating credits to a boat rental?

Yes, you can. When you submit a booking for a boat rental priced over $500, you will have the option to choose if you want to use your Boating credits or not. If you choose to use it, then Click on “Use credit” link at checkout. If the boat rental price is higher than available credit, then all your Boating credits will be used and the balance must be paid by credit card. If the boat rental price price is lower than available credit, then the needed credit will be used. Your account will then show the remaining balance.

Where can I check my Boating credits balance?

You can access your Profile>Settings>Referrals at any time and check your Boating credits balance. The balance will be continuously updated depending on the credits you use for your boat rentals and as more people sign up with your referral code or link.  

How can I earn Boating credits?

You can earn Boating credits by inviting your friends to sign up and complete a Qualifying Boat Rental. You can find your invite code and your invite link in your Profile tab>Settings>Referrals, or in the email received from Sailo.

The Boating credits accumulate and could be applied to the next Qualifying Boat Rental if user chooses to. If the boat rental price is higher than available credit, then all Boating credits will be used and the balance will be paid by credit card. If the boat rental price is lower than available credit, then only the needed credit will be used and the credit balance will be available for the next Qualifying Boat Rental.

Remember, personal invite codes should only be used for personal and noncommercial purposes. This means that you can share your invite link with your personal connections via personal email, Facebook or Twitter personal accounts, or by copying the code or invite link and sharing that using a method at your choice. Public distribution on sites where you are a contributor but not the primary content owner (e.g., Wikipedia, Reddit coupon websites) is not allowed. Promoting your referral code via Search Engine Marketing (e.g., AdWords/Yahoo/Bing) is also not allowed.
