Sailo Cancellation Policy


Any reservation can be canceled 5 days or more prior to the rental local start time for a full refund. The Renter should check the cancellation policy with each Boat Owner or the Captain, as some of the professional operators have specific cancellation policies which supersede those of Sailo.

If the Renter cancels the reservation 5 days or more prior to the rental local start time and if the boat owner agrees with the cancellation, he/she will receive a refund less applicable Service Fee.

If either the Boat Owner or the Captain cancel the reservation 5 days or more prior to the rental local start time, the Renter will get a full refund including the Service Fee.

On the contrary, if the Renter cancels the reservation less than 5 days prior to the rental local start time, he/she will not receive a refund, except for security deposit.

If either the Boat Owner or the Captain cancel the reservation less than 5 days prior to the rental local start time, the Renter will receive a full refund including the Service Fee.

Moreover, the following provisions will hold true in case of respective responsibilities originating from the Renter, Boat Owner or the Captain:

  • If the Boat Owner fails to provide access to the Boat in such cases including, but not limited to, the failure to exchange keys, miscommunication regarding the physical location of the boat, listing inaccuracies, poor functional or presentational features associated with the boat, the Renter will receive a full refund including the Service Fee, while the Boat Owner and the Captain will not receive any payment. In addition, an email notification will be sent to all three parties, the Owner, the Renter and the Captain.

  • If the Captain fails to comply with responsibilities associated with operating a vessel including, but not limited to, the failure to show-up at the time of the rental check-in or a situation whereby the Captain arrives unfit to operate the vessel, the Renter will receive a full refund including the Service Fee, while the Boat Owner and the Captain will not receive any payment. In addition, an email notification will be sent to all three parties, the Owner, the Renter and the Captain.

  • Finally, if the Renter fails to comply with responsibilities related to the rental check-in including, but not limited to, the failure to show-up at the time of the rental check-in or a situation whereby the Renter arrives with more people than the actual Boat capacity may handle, the Renter will forfeit any type of a refund, while all other parties, including the Boat Owner, the Captain and Sailo will automatically receive respective Fee payments. In addition, an e-mail notification will be sent to all three parties, the Owner, the Renter and the Captain.
