What to Wear
Traditional yachting attire is casual elegance. Wear flat shoes and clothing that's appropriate for the day's weather. And it's always a good idea to bring an extra layer of clothing when you're out on the water.
Music
Bring your playlist! Onboard sound system has Bluetooth connection. We recommend downloading your playlist in advance; sometimes cell phone connection can be spotty on the water.
Gratuities
Wind and waves can tip the boat but only you can tip the crew. If you have a wonderful sailing experience, please show your appreciation to the captain and crew. Customary 18-25% gratuity is appreciated. We accept Venmo, GooglePay, ApplePay, Zelle, and cash.
Photo ID
To protect us from pirates and stowaways, valid photo ID (passport or US driver's license) of the credit card holder must be provided. Photo ID can be sent in advance to gosailingnyc@gmail.com, or text 917-399-9084, or provided at the dock before boarding. If valid matching photo ID is not provided, passengers will not be able to board the vessel.
Weather
Yachting is an outdoor adventure. With yachting you’ll feel the sun on your face, wind in your hair, and sometimes a rain shower. If there’s a chance of rain, the captain will monitor the radar and determine 2 hours prior to departure if any pockets of rain can be avoided. If not, the captain will reschedule your charter.
Motion Sickness
Our boat is steady at sea but sometimes the harbor can get bumpy. If you suspect you might get motion sickness or you have been in the past, please take motion sickness medication prior to departure.
Prohibited Items
We have a short list of forbidden items: pets (service animals are welcome), smoking, vaping, open flames, illegal drugs, glass, red wine, hard coolers, weapons, sharp objects, and other pirate accessories.
Don't Miss The Boat!
Boarding is 5 minutes before departure. Please arrive on time. Due to a tight schedule, your yachting time cannot be extended. If you arrive late, the captain will wait for you, but your charter will be shortened or cancelled. Late arrivals and no-shows will not be rescheduled or refunded.
Terms & Conditions
You agree, and all members of your party agree, to the following Terms and Conditions:
– Service animals are permitted, pets are not.
– Smoking, vaping, open flames, illegal drugs, sharp objects, weapons, glass, red wine, hard coolers are not allowed on the vessel.
– Passengers are responsible for their personal items.
– Excessive consumption of alcohol on a yacht is unsafe. As per NYS Liquor Authority and the US Coast Guard, if passengers become unsafe due to alcohol consumption, the captain is required to limit alcohol service.
– Food & beverage orders are not refundable. If your charter is rescheduled by DBNY (Dream Boat NY), then the food & beverage order will be transferred to the new date and time at no additional cost.
– Access to the dock is five minutes before the start of your charter. Departure from the dock is approximately five minutes past your scheduled charter time. If you or someone in your party is late, yachting time is shortened or cancelled, and not eligible for refund or rescheduling.
– The passenger/agent booking must provide a government issued photo ID (US driver's license or passport) matching the credit card used for booking. If the passenger/agent refuses to provide a matching photo ID, then the passengers will not be able to board the vessel, and a full or partial refund will not be issued.
– DBNY recommends that you wear a USCG approved Life Jacket. Adults 18 years and older have the sole responsibility to decide if they want to wear a Life Jacket. Passengers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. New York State law requires persons 13 years of age and under to wear a Life Jacket. Parents or guardians are responsible for determining if a minor age 14-17 must wear a Life Jacket. USCG requires all infants and children, regardless of age, to be considered in the six-person maximum. Maximum 3 children are allowed on the vessel at one time.
– By booking a charter with DBNY, you agree that we may take photographs or videos during the charter, and we may use those photographs or video on our website and for other promotional purposes.
– Boating is inherently dangerous and all risks outside the reasonable control of the owners or operators of DBNY are waived. DBNY captain will determine the safe operating speed of the vessel based on current conditions. DBNY has the right to refuse or terminate passengers DBNY judges to be unsafe to themselves, other passengers, and/or crew. DBNY shall not be liable for damages for emotional distress, mental suffering/anguish, psychological injury, or damage to or loss of personal property. DBNY shall have the benefit of all statues of the United States of America providing for limitation and exoneration from liability. All disputes and matters whatsoever arising under, in connection with or incident to this contract shall be litigated before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan or before a court located in New York County, New York.

Each charter is flexible in nature due to tides, winds and other weather conditions. DBNY will do their best to stick to the cruising schedule but cannot be held responsible for charters that end earlier or later than scheduled. There are no full or partial refunds for charters ending prior to the scheduled arrival time.
DBNY does not cruise in adverse weather conditions. Adverse weather conditions include but are not limited to: excessive winds, excessive rain, thunder and lightning storms, small craft advisory, and other extreme conditions. If adverse weather conditions are in the forecast, the Captain will review the radar 2 hours prior to departure and determine if the charter needs to be rescheduled. Only the Captain can determine if adverse weather conditions will prevent the yacht from going out on the water. Rescheduled charters are subject to availability and only available during the same year ending in November.
Cancellation Policy
All sales are final. DBNY is not able to offer refunds. Charters postponed due to adverse weather conditions or mechanical failure can be rescheduled within the same calendar year only. Rescheduling expires November 30 and will not be refunded.
COVID-19 Policy
In consideration of being allowed to board the vessel, you understand, acknowledge and agree that in the 5 days prior to departure, you and all members of your party have not experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19. If the status changes for you or anyone in your party prior to departure, you understand that you must contact DBNY, and you understand that the individual will not be allowed to board the vessel until 5 days after symptoms or positive diagnosis.
