Renter Eligibility

In order to rent a boat on Sailo, a potential Renter must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:

• He/she must be at least 18 years of age;
• He/she must be able to provide a current and valid ID;
• He/she must have no felony or criminal convictions within the last 10 years;
• He/she must possess a mobile phone and a valid e-mail address verifiable through a text message confirmation so that he/she can be reached through calls and messaging;
• He/she must possess a major credit card (VISA, MC, DISCOVER, AMX) or other payment method (e.g. Paypal) with available credit to cover 1.5 times the rental plus the damage deductible up to 2% of the Boat value.

Renter Eligibility Documentation

The Renter is required to notify Sailo of any changes to his/her eligibility, or any criminal charges prior to renting a boat and using the services. Failure to notify and gain proper approvals will result in the Renter’s account being deactivated. In addition, by selecting and temporarily hiring the Captain, the Renter assumes any and all responsibility and along with it potential liability for any and all damages and related legal fees, as well as boating insurance claims and damages taking place throughout the duration of the rental.

Renter Eligibility Continued Monitoring

Sailo Renters are expected to keep their exemplary standing within the Sailo Community. Sailo may periodically monitor any Renter’s credit score or other eligibility requirements to ensure that such Renter continues to qualify for membership under the Renter Eligibility Requirements. Moreover, in addition to the Sailo Community reviews, Renter reviews can be triggered by a number of external notifications including, but not limited to the external notifications by any Sailo user, internal notifications received through the Sailo system and/or external notifications by the State DMV.
