Listing yourself as a captain is free and easy. After creating your Sailo profile, click on “List yourself as a captain” in the upper right corner of any Sailo web page and make sure you complete captain details including description, years of experience and your boating resume, along with more technical details related to your license. From there you can move forward and mark your daily calendar availability and price. As soon as you get approved, you will start receiving booking inquiries.
BackIf you are an experienced sailor and can operate a boat independently, you may not necessarily need a USCG license! But if you are registering yourself as a Captain, a USCG license can go a long way at proving your credibility! At Sailo, we strive for professionalism, so we want to make sure that our captains are more than capable to operate a vessel thus putting boat owners’ mind at ease and facilitating a relaxing and fun outing for our renters.
BackTo add captain services, go to your Captain Account and click on Services. Renters like having a captain on board because of the unique experiences he/she may provide (e.g. trip planning, cruising, snorkeling, cooking etc), so make sure you tell the community what you can do. Owners also like knowing what services you can provide them with (e.g. vessel maintenance program, mechanical repairs, key pickup/drop-off from/to the owner etc), so make sure you let them know how you can help out. Finally, share with the community the languages you are fluent in.
