With the combined experience of our crew of 33 years in the business and an impeccable standard of upkeep and upgrades along the years Braveheart is sure to be the "Best Vacation Ever" for your friends and family.
Braveheart specializes in Scuba diving with all the equipment onboard including dive compressors and a scuba instructor for doing courses. Braveheart runs fully inclusive of captain and chef as well as all food drinks and reasonable bar. We have a wide choice of water sports which we offer including 4 stand-up paddleboards, 2 kayaks, waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving, 2 hammocks, bean bag chairs and lots of other floating islands, pool mats and beach toys. There is lots of deck space to lie and relax on and a Biminis awning which attaches over the trampoline area to provide you ample shade if you wish to lie out. The spacious cockpit has ample seating and hard top cover allowing ventilation and a relaxing shaded seating area. We do lots of scuba instruction and welcome couples, families with children, and even do a great job with three generations.
We have 4 queen staterooms each with individual a/c, TV/DVD players, Wi-Fi and smart TVs, and each with en-suite dry head, separate shower and electric toilets. We also have a single bunk on the port side hallway with its own privacy curtain.
Day Sail Terms and Conditions
Braveheart is primarily a term charter catamaran doing 7 night sails out of Red Hook, St Thomas USVI or Tortola BVI. We spend most nights in the BVI but also visit St John USVI. When not busy on our Term charters we do the occasional day sail with a gourmet lunch provided. We can take up to 12 persons and the rate is $200/pp but we do have a $1400 minimum for the day. Customs fees for going to the BVI for the day, if applicable are extra as well as crew gratuity of 15-20% of total charter fee.
Term Charter Rates
Our Term charter rates are based on a 7 night stay and vary slightly according to the number of guests. We have a maximum number of 9 guests but can accommodate 10 persons if there are several small children. Customary crew gratuity of 15-20% of charter fee is not included in rate. 50% deposit is required plus a signed contract with complete terms and conditions included in order to confirm any bookings.

Chef Dawn Mottram is British, coming from North Wales originally. She grew up on the coast and living by the sea she spent many happy hours with her family on boats. She passed her love for sailing onto her two children, who have taken to the sport as well. Dawn has always enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and charitable events. She is a trained RGN nurse, specializing in pediatrics, community, and ophthalmic nursing, and has most recently worked as a medical equipment consultant. Her career of helping people as a nurse inspired her to start fundraising for causes she believed in. As the years went on, the scale of her fundraising and the distances she went to, grew. Dawn’s passion for the outdoors has led her on cycling tours through Vietnam, hikes up the three highest mountains peaks of Great Britain, and numerous sailing events such as Cowes Week. She has taken part in many long distance offshore sailing races, most notably the Fastnet Race. Her largest fundraiser generated £100,000 for Sail4Cancer. She was involved in forming the first "all female" team to compete in the Non-Stop Around Britain and Ireland Race in 2006. One of her many duties onboard was as bowman and foredeck crew but she was also the cook. Her experiences of cooking on racing boats led Dawn to produce the Swell Food recipe book, for sailing enthusiasts. All proceeds were donated to Sail4Cancer, enabling children suffering from the effects of cancer to have sailing opportunities. Her passion for sailing and travelling has led Dawn from London to work as chef on Braveheart for the last 9 years in the Caribbean. During this time she has risen to become one of the "Best" Chefs in the industry having won awards in cooking competitions amongst the other yachts she has been published several times in Local cookbooks for signature recipes of "Poke' Meguro" and "Lionfish Tacos" and has published a cookbook of her own entitled "Swell Food". Her European, Mediterranean, and Asian influences will win you over with regards to her cuisine but it is her caring nature, attention to detail, and constantly striving to improve that will be the lasting impression that stays with you for years to come.

Captain Jerry Blair has been sailing since he was 2 years old and has sailed extensively throughout the Northeast USA, and Caribbean and has undertaken several Trans-Atlantic crossings. He holds a 100 ton USCG Masters license and is also a NAUI Scuba Instructor and PADI Divemaster, as well as a US Sailing Instructor.
One of Jerry’s great loves is teaching and as an avid water sports enthusiast he enjoys sharing all his varied knowledge with friends and guests. Jerry teaches lots of SCUBA courses from first time resort courses to full or advanced diving certifications. His passion for the sea and all the creatures in it have led him in his spare time to become a director of Reef Guardians BVI, a coral reef conservation group, whose main goal has been battling the invasive Lionfish. Come along on Braveheart to hear about how and why the invasive Pacific Red Lionfish came to be such a menace in the Caribbean and help Jerry catch these beautiful but dangerous venomous fish and let him teach you all the interesting details about them.
After residing in the Caribbean Islands for 23 years on charter yachts, Jerry is a good source of local knowledge and history which ensures every trip is unique, fun and interesting. He is known to tell a few tall but funny charter stories as well. He is gregarious and loves meeting people..

What type of yacht should I charter?

No matter what type of yacht you choose to charter, we know that you will have a fantastic time on the water. If you are more about the journey, and want a relaxing time aboard, then choose from one of the many sailboats on the platform. If you are more about the destination, and going fast, check out the powerboats on Sailo. For an exclusive experience, Sailo recommends chartering a luxurious yacht for the day. Finally, Sailo has access to many event boats as well for group outings from 50 - 1,000 guests. If you are still unsure, then just ask! more...

What should I bring?

Bring yourself, and some comfortable clothes suitable to the season you are going to be out on the water. Please keep in mind that it is often 10 degrees cooler out on the water, so a jacket or windbreaker is never a bad idea. We also recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, as well as a swimsuit if appropriate for your charter location. Please coordinate with your captain regarding any food or drinks that you wish to bring aboard. For term-charters, Sailo recommends using soft-sided luggage, and keeping it simple. more...

How long does a rental last?

The basic daily rental is structured as either a quarter-, half-, or full-day. A quarter-day is two hours, a half-day is four hours, and a full-day is eight hours. You can also discuss a custom trip with the boat by contacting the owner through Sailo. Most term charters (weekly rentals) are from Saturday to Saturday. Keep in mind that the boat generally needs to be back at the dock by Friday evening, and you will need to be off the boat on Saturday morning so they can prepare the boat for the next guests. more...
