Wooden boat built in Brites Shipyard, in Belem, between 1968 and 1970.
Under the same design , by G. L. Watson & Co., from Glasgow, it was the third and last to be built, Worldwide. The teak wood, for planking, from Goa, in India, was given by a friend of the first owner, Mr. Eduardo van Zeller.
Was built under Loyd’s 100 A 1 certification.
It’s a 35 tons ketch (including 9 tons of lead under the keel) and is powered by twin 0.400 six cilynder Leyland engines, from 1967 (the same as single deck London buses had, at the time). Is 55 feet long (17m).

The program we suggest is a 7 days charter to Arrabida Natural Park, starting from Lisbon, Portugal. Starts at 10 am on the first day and ends at 6 pm of the 7th day. For up to 6 guests. Breakfast and 1 meal a day included (lunch or dinner) on board. Two crew members. Dinghy with 2.5 Hp. Marinas included but we suggest to sleep on the anchor. On the 7th day, we leave from Sesimbra at sunrise and expect to arrive in Cascais at noon, for lunch, then back to Lisbon in the afternoon.

Cascais is my hometown. Twenty minutes driving from Lisbon, by the sea, where I spent my childhood and learned to sail.
My father wasn't very much of a sailor but loved boats. Bought a fishing boat where painting was a family job and later a 52 feet wooden black ketch, designed by Max Oertz. The boat of my youth.
Been sailing all my life. In 2007 I bought an old wooden boat, turned it into a sailing barge and started racing and taking part on traditional boat meetings in the Tagus river. Wrote a book on the subject ("Canoas do Tejo" in 2009)
In 2010, I brought Halcyon I to Cascais, from the Algarve, and started a one year recovery in a shipyard, in Seixal, and on the anchor.
Been living on board since 2010 and it's always me, who answers your calls or emails.
