Description

Hallberg-Rassy is widely considered to be one of the finest production yacht builders in the world. The Swedish yard has a very long history of building top-quality, heavy-displacement, sea-worthy yachts. This yacht is a professionally maintained and continuously upgraded Hallberg-Rassy 49, originally built with the rare 4-cabin layout and refit in 2017. Outdoors, the wide flush teak deck is perfect for sunbathing under the sun and the protected centre-cockpit is ideal for relaxing under its cool shade. Indoors, the spacious salon is comfortable for dining or watching movies and the long galley offers plenty of space to cook even the most elaborate meals. The heads have separate shower stalls and electric toilets. The boat is fully air-conditioned and fully-equipped with a rebuilt engine (2017), new generator (2017), new tender with outboard (2017), stand-up paddle board, snorkelling equipment and more.

Are you looking for a relaxed, comfortable and fun way to explore the most beautiful and authentic Greek islands? We will be sailing to a different destination every day to visit beautiful bays with clear waters, ideal for swimming, snorkelling and exploring, or simply soaking up some sun, listening to music and reading a book. At night we will usually remain at anchor to enjoy the atmosphere, have a drink and gaze at the starlit sky. We will also be visiting a few small, traditional and authentic towns to walk around and experience the local culture, cuisine and night scene.

Crew

I am an enthusiastic and experienced sailor, with a deep respect for the sea and a local knowledge of the Aegean and Ionian islands. From a young age, I have been participating in several water related activities, such as waterskiing, wake boarding, surfing, windsurfing, scuba diving, deepwater fishing, motor boating and sailing (both cruising and racing). Having collected significant theoretical and practical experience in many aspects of the yachting industry over the years (including providing business investment advice in the marine industry and offering exclusive yacht sales), I am now offering unforgettable, easy-going and laid-back cruises around the Aegean archipelago and the Ionian sea, as the skipper/owner of a comfortable and fully-equipped Hallberg-Rassy 49 sailing yacht, named Big Blue. With regards to my sailing experience, I have sailed more than 10.000 nautical miles by learning, cruising, passage-making, delivering, skippering and racing in many different types of yachts. I have also completed a transatlantic voyage, a lot of tidal passages in the English Channel, a delivery from the North Sea to the Mediterranean, as well as several deliveries and cruises in the Mediterranean (Montenegro, Croatia, Italy and Spain). Nevertheless, my favourite cruising area is Greece, since I love exploring the remote bays, hidden coves, crystal-clear waters and authentic small towns of the Aegean and Ionian islands. Some of the official qualifications I have acquired are: - International Certificate of Competence - RYA/MCA Yacht Master Ocean Commercially Endorsed - RYA/MCA Yacht Master Offshore - RYA Dinghy Sailing Instructor - RYA Windsurfing Instructor - Hellenic ORC Racing Certificate - Hellenic ORC Advanced Sailing Certificate - Hellenic ORC Sailing Certificate - First Aid, Fire Fighting, Personal Survival, Engine Maintenance, Radar, Radio Certificate

Location and Destination Guide

Usually this boat operates around Foinikas, GR.

One of the great cities of the ancient world, Athens is a fascinating mixture of old and new begging for exploration. Although, and let’s be honest here, she isn’t the best looking city in Europe, you’ll find lots to do and plenty of fascinating historical sights. The must visit wonder of the Acropolis is the crown jewels of Athens, with many ancient monuments to explore. But if you want to get out of town there are a lot of opportunities for day trips from Athens.
