The island’s natural wonders, combined with its peaceful environment, make it a worthwhile travel destination.

One of the most beautiful destinations in all of the USVI and BVI, St. John is truly a gem. It is actually mostly made up of Virgin Islands National Park and protected by the National Park Service. For anyone who loves nature, adventure, and tranquility, this is the island destination for you. And like other tropical vacation spots, the best way to explore is by boat!

Filter your search by type of boat (catamaran or sailboat), price, travel dates, party size, and more in order to narrow your results to the boats that will fit the needs of your trip. The boat representative can also offer their own tips for sailing in the USVI as well as any extras they may be able to add to your booking, such as transportation to and from the port or watersports equipment.

Tips for visiting St. John, USVI

Even though the Caribbean is a wildly popular sailing destination, we still recommend spending plenty of time exploring the island of St. John either before or after you charter your boat rental.

The weather can affect your sailing plans if you end up booking your trip during a time with cooler temperatures or adverse weather conditions, like tropical storms and hurricanes. You can visit year-round, but we recommend booking for March through June if you want the most ideal weather and sailing conditions. Of course, like other tropical places in the world, the weather can be unpredictable, so just keep this in mind and pack according to the season you plan to visit.

If you’re visiting St. John, you might even want to extend your trip and take a longer tropical vacay! Want even more vacation ideas? Check out St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands or the British Virgin Islands. Sailo offers plenty of catamarans and sailboats all over the Caribbean, so after you’re finished exploring St. John, try island hopping!
